The trade between china and Poland has a long history.When new China was just founded,Poland has estabilished the foreigen relations with China.Next year,the Sino-polish Government has signed the trade and payment agreement.For 50 years,the trade oprations between the two countries has experienced different development phase.
Since the first trade and payment agreement signed bye the two countries in 1950,the trade between them was already has a 50 years history.For this half century,on the ground of equality and mutual benefit principle and exchange of needed goods principle,both countries volume of trade grow unceasingly.In 2001,the trade amount between China and Poland was 1,243,000,000 US dollars.In 2002 the number was 1,383,000,000 US dollars.This was 243 times to the numbers in 1950.
The trade operation between China and Poland has experienced different development phase.Before 1990,the two countries adopt the Accounting-trade Method.Every year,according to both countyies' economic development situation,they sign a protocol about goods exchange for a year.The goods list amount of import and export is basically balanced.The contract signed and carried out bye both sides central Trading company.When 1986,the trade amount grows to 957,000,000US dollars,created the historical maximum level.The trade method changed into spot exchange in 1990.Because of the trading companies needed time to adapted to the new trading methods,at the begining of this exchange,the bilateral volume of tradeonce dropped in counts by large scale.According to the China's country Customs,in the last year of Accounting-trade,the trading amount reached646,000,000 US dollarsin 1989,but after changed into spot exchange in 1990,the amount dropped to 322,000,000 US dollars,in 1991 reced to 144,000,000 US dollars.
After both sides' effort,the trading amounts began to rise again in 1992.Moreover,there was big deals increase every year.In 2001,the bilateral volume of trade amounted to 1,243,000,000 US dollars.
At present,the two problems in trade between China and Poland are:first,the trades of the two sides are not balance,in 2001,China exported 1,016,000,000 US dollars,but imported 226,000,000 US dollars.In 2002,China exported 1,164,000,000 US dollars,imported 219,000,000 IS dollars.The trade deficit problem receives both countries' government Departments' attention.Second,Poland sets limit to some Chinese procts,like cigarette lighter,footwears,electric iron and so on.the reason was anti-mping.
The import-export structur has had a very big change.Before 1990,ring the period of two countries governments' agreement trade,the goods that China exported to Poland are mainly vice-native proct,the minerals and the textiles and other lighe instrial goods.Among the exported good,mechanical and electrial procts are very little.After 1990,along with China's reform and open policy's deepening,the economical unceasingly development and the instrial technology level's enhancement,the amount of mechanical and electrial procts that China expor to Poland increased year by year.For intance,line cutter,printer,as well as color TV set,the electric refrigerator,the washer,the microwave oven and so on held certain share in the Polish market.In recent years,the electronic accounting machine fitting,electric procts and many kind of acoustic equipment favored in the Polish market's sale.According to material which providea by the Polish Statistics Bureau,in the first 11 months in 1999,China exported to Poland goods in total were 1,085,000,000 US dollars.Among that,mechanical and electrical,the electronic prrocts and the minerals value of exports amount reach to 480,000,000 US dollars,accounts for the total export 44.2%
Fore 50 years,the imported's structure have also had very big change.Before 1990,the goods that China imports from Poland were mining coal equipment,the construction machinery,many kinds of engine bed and the carrier and so on,but also has steel procts,the copper,the chemical fertilizer,the instrial chemicals and the agricultural proct and so on.After 1990,along with the import amounts unceasing rection,the kinds of import's goods was recing.At present,China mainly import steel,copper,instrial chemical and rapeseed from Poland.
The Sino-Polish trade potential is very big, China does not set limit to the system to the Polish proct. The Chinese side encourages the Chinese Enterprise in the wave investment, also welcome the Polish Enterprise to invest to China, specially participates in the Northeast old Instrial base promotion and the western big development construction.
For the recent two years the China and Poland bilateral trade growth is very quick, Poland is China in the Eastern Europe area biggest trade partner.
